“Identifying, Analyzing and Utilizing Your
Spiritual Gifts”
Would you like to deepen your walk with Jesus? Would you like to help our church to become stronger? YOU possess a gift that we need here at Wesley. "What is it?" you ask. And "what can I do with this gift?" Good questions. Join us in a study of the spiritual gifts that God has given us. Not everyone has all gifts but everyone has a gift. That was the reason for your creation, to help God carry on his ministry using your gift. We will learn what our spiritual gift or gifts are, and discover ways to use these gifts. You will not be signed up to a committee or a job, however, you might decide that there is a place where you would like to contribute in our church or community.
Please join us on this wonderful journey of discovery.

"Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World"- Joann Weaver
The life of a woman today isn't really all that different from that of Mary and Martha in the New Testament. Like Mary, you long to sit at the Lord's feet...but the daily demands of a busy world just won't leave you alone. Like Martha, you love Jesus and really want to serve him...yet you struggle with weariness, resentment, and feelings of inadequacy.
Then comes Jesus, right into the midst of your busy Mary/Martha life---and he extends the same invitation he issued long ago to the two sisters of Bethany. Tenderly he invites you to choose "the better part"---a joyful life of "living-room" intimacy with him that flows naturally into "kitchen service" for him. How can you make that choice?

"Easter from the Backside"- J. Ellsworth Kallas
Another book in the popular Back Side series, this opens up new possibilities on insight into the biblical Easter story. The author looks beyond the traditional Gospel scriptures to connect the story of Christ's resurrection with other stories and scriptures in both the Old and New Testaments.

"24 Hours That Changed the World"- Adam Hamilton
No single event in human history has received more attention than the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth. This is a guide for us through the last twenty-four hours of Jesus' life. Each chapter is designed to help the reader experience and understand the significance of Jesus' suffering and death in a way you have never done before. You are invited to join this class in retracing the last 24 hours of Jesus' life.

"Prayer: Does It Make Any Difference?"- Phillip Yancey
Author of "What's So Amazing about Grace?" Philip Yancey probes the very heartbeat—the most fundamental, challenging, perplexing, and deeply rewarding aspect—of our relationship with God: prayer. What is prayer? Does it change God’s mind or ours—or both? This book is an invitation to communicate with God the Father who invites us into an eternal partnership through prayer.

"Hospitality- Risking Welcome"- Helen Neinast
What does it mean to give and receive welcome? What can we learn from this practice? And why is it risky?
In this study, Helen R. Neinast and David O. Jenkins help us to understand why hospitality is basic to our lives as Christians. David O. Jenkins has a lifelong commitment to studying and living the way in which the Christian faith impacts and changes life, especially in urban areas. He has been associated with four homeless shelters and a refugee resettlement ministry.

“Knit Together”- Psalms 139
Psalm 139:13 (New International Version) "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb."
"Knit Together" is a group that takes inspiration from this verse to come together and be creative. The Wesley UMW Prayer Shawl Ministry will be a part of "Knit Together." This is also a great way to learn to knit or crochet. We also invite anyone to come bringing their own projects to work on during this session.

PREP: "Marriage Enrichment and
Relationship Enhancement Workshop”
P.R.E.P.
(Prevention & Relationship Enhancement Program) is education, not therapy. Most of us learned to read with the help of a teacher. We took tennis lessons, piano lessons or at least watched a t.v. show on how to remodel the bathroom before digging in. But when it comes to loving relationships, we just assume we’ll know how to do it. The fact is that most of us didn’t learn relationship skills in a direct manner from qualified sources. When it comes to loving the most important people in our lives, no one can ever learn too much.

"It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ...he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone." Ephesians 1:11
