What to expect on Sundays As Wesley continues to grow, we
have added more parking out front for you. You will be met inside
by friendly greeters who can give directions. A Welcome Table is
located in the central hall area (Narthex) along with people who can provide
you with directions and information. Written information about our church
and its ministries is offered. Guests are
offered nametags since Wesley members wear nametags and like to get to
know folks. A well-staffed nursery
is provided for babies and young children during all worship services
and programs. Van service is available upon request for those needing
a ride to church or to activities.

Wesley Church is a friendly, growing congregation of approximately 700 located in Shawnee, a town in the very center of Oklahoma. Established in the early 1900's, Wesley is and has always been one of Shawnee's most active and involved church communities. Wesley is a ‘people’ church, always welcoming guests, visitors and new members. It truly exhibits the United Methodist theme of "open hearts, open minds, open doors". Ideally situated on a main city
thoroughfare, its 10-acre tract of land has provided room for expansion
and growth. A major facility and grounds improvement and building project
was recently completed with the renovation of the sanctuary, a new sound
system and projector system, a new sanctuary organ and the construction
of a 5,600 sq. ft. multi-purpose structure for use as a van garage/picnic
recreation/storage pavilion.
This congregation is devoted to missions, with projects targeted locally, within the States and around the world. Mission projects range from serving meals and passing out Bibles and blankets at the local Salvation Army to supporting missionaries abroad, hammering nails on foreign building projects, and sending Volunteers in Mission teams to such places as South Africa, Bosnia, Mexico, and remote locations in Central and South America. Wesley members have a heart for missions! Believing it has a responsibility to make a Christian difference in the lives of all people, both in the community and within the church family, the congregation has adopted a written Mission Statement focusing on this important goal: "We are a caring congregation striving to make disciples of Jesus Christ by drawing generations together to worship, study, and serve."
