Each year our United Methodist Women's Wesley Chapter sponsor the Fall Craft Show and Stew Lunch (formerly the UMW Bazaar). This fundraising project determines to a large degree the UMW's ability to participate in a long list of mission projects. 2007's affair netted over $2,200.
$6.00 bought a big bowl of stew and cornbread, all the fixin's, drink, and dessert. Hard to beat, and it was all so wonderfully homemade by our UMW ladies.
This last year there were lots of food and craft items. Not only are there stacks of good ideas, goodies, holiday and gift items from our Wesley crafters, but there were 16 area artisans that rented hall booths for $35 to show their wares ($30 for returning booth renters). Very impressive stuff!
