Mission Opportunities

2020 Mission Focus

We are excited to partner with so many mission and non profits we started to engage with in 2019!   We believe we should be an active part of the community around us.  Legacy Parenting, Family Promise, Circle of Care, Community Market, Community Classroom Sponsors, Community Renewal, Project Safe, and One Safe Family/Family Justice Center, The Salvation Army Angel Tree are just some of the local agencies we are involved with.
We are also excited to be sending a Mission Team to Henderson Settlement in Kentucky for a week long mission project in March of 2020.  This will be  great week of growing together and making a difference outside of our own community.  If you are interesting in going or supporting our mission, contact Zach Foster on our staff page.
2020 Mission Trip To Henderson Settlement, Kentucky

We are excited about our opportunity to serve at Henderson Settlement in Kentucky this upcoming March.  Mission trips are a great time to not only serve others, but it also helps  us grow together as a church.   The team building and relationships will create memories and friendships for years to come.

Our team this year consists of children, youth, and adults.  We will be gone from March 15th -March 22nd.

Food Pantry

The food pantry at Wesley helps provide for those in need in our community. Each person receives a canvas bag filled with healthy and hearty non-perishable groceries – enough to feed a small family for a few days. Included in the bag is information about our church, a Book of Bible Promises, and a hand written note of encouragement. The food pantry receives donations of non-perishable food items from all church members, and Wesley UMW also contributes funds. It is Wesley’s way of saying “we love you” to all who are in need.

Clothes Closet

We believe that it is a scriptural command to clothe the needy. Through the help of the UMW, Trustees, and congregation, a free clothes closet has been established in the dry storage room of the van garage. We have men’s, women’s, and children’s shoes and clothes in all sizes. We only ask for the name, address and phone number of those who partake. We are open the second Friday and fourth Saturday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. In times of immediate need, the clothes are available. You may donate gently used items anytime by placing them in the front office with David Larson.

Family Promise

Family Promise is made up of a network of churches that have a desire to help at-risk families find their way. Churches in our community work together to provide housing and food while parents attend practical day classes on resumé building and job interview etiquette. Wesley is currently a helper church in this ministry, and we are in need of volunteers to help with meals and/or stay overnight at a sister church with Family Promise guests.
