Job Summary:
To lead and cultivate the Children’s ministry, Pre-K through 5th grade, at Wesley United Methodist
Church. This job includes but not limited to discipleship, prayer, activities, Bible study, informal
gatherings, spiritual guidance, parent and congregational involvement and support, and missional
outreach.
Working with Wesley’s Ministry Team, we expect that the Coordinator of Children’s Ministries will focus
on making disciples, ensuring children are introduced to the love, forgiveness, and life-giving grace
found in Christ Jesus. The Coordinator will lead programming that nurtures and grows children’s faith in
Jesus. The Coordinator will also develop a Children’s Ministry Team within the congregation.

Spiritual Qualities:
Must exhibit strong Christian faith and character that demonstrates a close relationship with God
through prayer, bible study, worship and praise, Christian community, and service. Successful
candidate should be able to share Christian faith and speak of personal experience of Christ and the
Skills Required:
Good skills in interpersonal communication (oral and written), ability to relate to children and adults of
all ages, good organizational skills, positive group building/interaction, basic Biblical knowledge, and
teaching. Basic CPR and First Aid training is strongly preferred. Valid drivers license and background
check are required. Per Conference and Wesley policy, successful candidate must complete Safe
Employment Terms:
➢ The salary is $22,500 annually.
➢ Work is part-time at 25 hours per week on average annually.
➢ Personal time off is flexible.
➢ Successful candidate will report to the Senior Pastor and will be accountable to the Wesley Ministry
Team and Staff-Parish Relations Committee.
➢ There are no medical, retirement, or paid time off benefits associated with the position.
