I’m New

WELCOME
We’re so glad you’re interested in learning more about Wesley United Methodist Church. We are a community of faith caring for each other and dedicated to:

WORSHIP, STUDY, SERVE

Wesley United Methodist Church, a growing congregation in Shawnee, Oklahoma, has been active and involved since the early 1900s. The congregation is dedicated to missions, with projects targeting local, national, and global areas. We have partnered with Compassion International to provide clean water and sanitary stations in Piura, Peru. Wesley’s mission statement emphasizes making disciples of Jesus Christ by drawing generations together to worship, study, and serve.

Each Sunday we gather for Sunday School
(Christian Education) at 9:30am.
We have classes for Children, Youth & Adult Sunday School.

We gather for Worship at 10:30am.

“We are a caring congregation striving to make disciples of Jesus Christ by drawing generations together to worship, study, and serve”
(Mission Statement)
We offer live worship, active ministry, outreach, teaching, learning, and making a Christian difference.

Wesley welcomes all people with open hearts, minds, and doors, aiming to make a Christian difference in the lives of all people.

Believing it has a responsibility to make a Christian difference in the lives of all people, both in the community and within the church family, the congregation has adopted a written Mission Statement focusing on this important goal:
“We are a caring congregation striving to make disciples of Jesus Christ by drawing generations together to worship, study, and serve.”

What to Expect
  • Arrival: If it’s your first time, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes prior to the worship start time. That will give you enough time to park and find a seat before the service begins.
  • Dress: We welcome everyone just as they are. Some people dress up and others dress very casually. We encourage you to come the way that you feel most comfortable.
  • During the Service: Each worship you can always expect inspiring music and a message of hope. As part of the service we take up an offering. If you are a guest, please do not feel any pressure or obligation to give. This is an act of worship for our regular participants, allowing them to thank God for all of the great work God is doing in their lives.
  • Children’s Ministry: We understand how precious your children are and we take great care to make sure that they are safe at all times. We have on staff a nursery director who is available during Sunday School and worship service to care for little ones. Our nursery director alongside two additional adult helpers have gone through background and have been cleared by our church to serve in that capacity.
  • Guest Information: As a guest, we encourage you to fill out our connect cards found in sanctuary during worship. This helps us to stay in communication with you and let you know about all of the exciting things happening at Wesley United Methodist Church throughout the year.
